Supervision Services
Supervision
Regular supervision is essential to maintain longevity in the helping professions. Reflective practice, ongoing learning and self-care strategies combine to support capacity. I recognise individual supervision needs vary and I will work with you to understand your strengths and priorities for development. With 10 years’ experience in hospital social work and 15 years in a variety of community settings, I understand the pressures and complexities of working within systems as well as the impact of working with people who are often marginalised, traumatised and confronted by those systems.
Group Supervision
Vicarious trauma and burnout are real risks within the helping professions. A robust team culture and a good understanding of each other’s roles and workloads can help mitigate these risks. Group supervision can be used to build connections within the team and develop mutual support. A trusting environment is essential for individuals to share their concerns; I will utilise my facilitation and counselling skills to ensure each team member feels heard and recognised. I will work with the team to identify priorities for each session, for example in depth case review, or discussion of a chosen article or report to facilitate professional development.
